This began as a watercolor that was exhibited with a series of small abstracts.The entire series was Kandinsky inspired. In an effort to enlarge it I changed it, then inverted the color in Adobe. This was the result. It has been a striking print on canvas, that has also been exhibited in its own right and has sold in small to large sizes.
About Studio Tolere
I am self taught. I have painted fulltime since 2001 , beginning in watercolor. Many images of the first years were done with my eyes closed. This was about being called, or engaged ,by the sense perception that is mindless, free of image . It required listening to this wordless subtle sense and put marks down on the paper without second guessing. Each year until recently I created a series of work that were shown and selected pieces chosen for a print series. I now work mainly in pastel and oil but not exclusively. I see these series as being the building blocks in this process of becoming an artist from the inside out .
