This was done in 2012 when I was intensively studying the work of Miro. I copied a number of his pieces to understand how he worked with balance between shapes and also open spaces. I continued to work with this and later made acolor shit digitally from black to the cobalt green seen here.
I am self taught. I have painted fulltime since 2001 , beginning in watercolor. Many images of the first years were done with my eyes closed. This was about being called, or engaged ,by the sense perception that is mindless, free of image . It required listening to this wordless subtle sense and put marks down on the paper without second guessing. Each year until recently I created a series of work that were shown and selected pieces chosen for a print series. I now work mainly in pastel and oil but not exclusively. I see these series as being the building blocks in this process of becoming an artist from the inside out . I just found this. I to have been off the wall busy and miss things. But hearing from you really means something apart from your leaving the very best comments. I woke up from being so disconnected and wanted to come back to FAA. I actually have work and work not uploaded it seems for years now. Hope I can do that this winter.
