This was painted in 2003, then sold and has been in a print edition since. It shows well small as well as large, on glossy or matte canvas, as well as paper, although I recommend canvas.Of all of the work I have produced in a print format,this one is my favorite personally to hang in my home.
About Studio Tolere
I am self taught. I have painted fulltime since 2001 , beginning in watercolor. Many images of the first years were done with my eyes closed. This was about being called, or engaged ,by the sense perception that is mindless, free of image . It required listening to this wordless subtle sense and put marks down on the paper without second guessing. Each year until recently I created a series of work that were shown and selected pieces chosen for a print series. I now work mainly in pastel and oil but not exclusively. I see these series as being the building blocks in this process of becoming an artist from the inside out .
