I can see your genuine, authentic artistic touch from the first try in this gorgeous painting, Chana - you are a naturally gifted artist with a deep soulful feeling about the world surrounding you and can convey its reflection into your art - this is rare and magical. l/f. And I loved your description!

Artist's Description

This is a small watercolor, 4 by 6 inches. It is the first actual painting I made, from 2001, when I was living in Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico.I was so afraid to put paint on the paper I was paralyzed to touch the palette. I felt a shove , as if someone else guided my hand to put paint on the brush and just wreck the nice white surface once and for all.
When it was done I felt it would look better if it was put together differently. That is why there is a line across the middle. First efforts!
This has become one of my favorites.

Each year until recently I created a series of work that were shown and selected pieces chosen for a print series. I now work mainly in pastel and oil but not exclusively. I see these series as being the building blocks in this process of becoming an artist from the inside out . Most of what I created was done in places closely aligned to native and mestizo culture in the...
