I am self taught. I have painted fulltime since 2001 , beginning in watercolor. Many images of the first years were done with my eyes closed. This was about being called, or engaged ,by the sense perception that is mindless, free of image . It required listening to this wordless subtle sense and put marks down on the paper without second guessing. Each year until recently I created a series of work that were shown and selected pieces chosen for a print series. I now work mainly in pastel and oil but not exclusively. I see these series as being the building blocks in this process of becoming an artist from the inside out .
